Solving of a Phosphorus Removal Problem with Computer Modeling

Goal and Scope. The objective of the paper is to illustrate the solving of a chronic problem occurring in a wastewater treatment facility with a capacity of 12,000 inhabitant equivalent. Computer aided simulation technique was used to develop a solution for the treatment problem. Drastic phosphorous concentration increase was observed in the wastewater treatment facility for a long period of time and in changing time periods. The phosphorous concentration build-up influenced the efficiency of the whole wastewater treatment line.
