Zusammenfassung: | Given the concern for biliary pathology, a transabdominal right upper quadrant ultrasound was obtained and demonstrated a contracted gall bladder with no stones or sludge; the common bile duct measured 8 mm. Also noted was a large oval anechoic structure, 5.5 cm in diameter, of uncertain origin and separate from the gall bladder. With this abnormal finding, a subsequent CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis revealed a 5.2 x 4.8 cm cystic lesion adjacent to the head of the pancreas containing mural nodules or debris in the anterior wall with associated mild dilatation of the intrahepatic bile ducts. [...]MANEC is a rare tumor, and few case reports of biliary MANEC have been reported.4 These lesions are aggressive, and little is known about their natural course. |
