Zusammenfassung:The session was organized to provide a forum for presentations on aboriginal aquaculture projects and an opportunity for information exchange through presentations and discussions. The organizers wished to provide a better understanding of the opportunities and challenges of these projects, to identify factors that affect their success, and to share and discuss the experiences and issues around planning and implementing aquaculture projects, enterprises, or partnerships, so project representatives could benefit from the accumulated knowledge of the international aquaculture community. The session provided a realistic picture of what it takes to plan, develop and implement an aquaculture project for aboriginal communities.
