Zusammenfassung: | A new method of Sargassum fulvellum seedling production was developed. In this method, seedlings are detached from the substratum and agitated in a culture tank by a bubbling system. In this report, daily growth and survival rate were examined in young S. fulvellum detached and agitated in four densities (25, 50, 100, 200 inds./L) and in non-detached culture. Daily growth and survival rates of detached and agitated seedlings cultured for 54 days were 5.6X 10E-5-2.8 X 10E-4 g/day and 49-79 %, respectively, and these were higher at the lower density. These values of non-detached seedlings cultured for 57 days were 7.0X 10E-5 g/day and 20 %, respectively. These results suggest that this new method is useful for seedling production of S. fulvellum. |
