Achillon versus open surgery in acute Achilles tendon repair

Highlights • Complications following surgery are significantly reduced in the Achillon repairs. • Re-rupture rates are similar between the two groups. • No sural nerve injuries occurred with Achillon repairs. • Achillon repairs is favourable technique for acute Achilles tendon ruptures.
