Zusammenfassung: | To meet the food demands for 2025, water has to be used and developed equitably and in harmony with nature. This leads to the need for economising water use in an integrated water management framework. The consequent upward pressure on the price of water will have consequences for producers and consumers and fact-finding is necessary to identify the implications, especially for the poor. Managing food security and water scarcity also requires an exchange of knowledge between people, institutions and countries and an association of global organisations to facilitate this is welcomed. To implement the actions and initiatives to achieve the vision needs concerted action and working together, and this process has to start now. |
