Synthesis of novel pentacyclic b-lactam antibacterial agents

The search for new antibacterial agents still represents an active area of research. In this paper the synthesis of a new class of b-lactam agents characterized by an interesting antibacterial profile is reported; together with a description of the most significant synthetic aspects encountered during this work.Original Abstract: la recherche de nouveaux agents antibacteriens constitue toujours un champ de recherche actif. Cet article rapporte la synthese dune nouvelle classe de b-lactames caracterises par un interessant profil antibacterien, ainsi que la description des aspects synthetiques les plus importants rencontres au cours de ces travaux.
