Zusammenfassung:A low curability of ulcers infected with Candida has been reported in the literature. The aim of the study reported here was to investigate experimentally whether Candida infection affects the healing of ulcers. Candida albicans (the Candida group) or saline (the control group) was administered intragastrically into rats with a cysteamine-induced duodenal ulcer. The duodenal lesions, vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) were assessed.
