Zusammenfassung: | CCEP's operating funds come from donations, speaker and workshop fees, and selling information it prints. In addition CCEP receives a small grant from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). For the past two years, CCEP has organized a new caucus on day care at the annual NAEYC conference. Child care workers are becoming more aware of their rights as workers, reports CCEP organizer [Rory Darrah]. More centers are instituting written personnel policies, and workers are paying closer attention to contracts. Darrah stressed that CCEP does not function as a negotiator but provides information and organizing and problem-solving assistance. CCEP coordinates at least two meetings monthly or workshops for day care workers and community people in both Northern and Southern California. |
