Zusammenfassung:Hyperxiphia tabunokii, n. sp., from Amani-Oshima, Kagoshima Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan, is described and illustrated. Specimens emerged from wood of Machilus thunbergii Sieb. and Zucc. (Lauraceae) and Ardisia sieboldii Miq. (Myrsinaceae). A key is provided for the four Japanese species of Hyperxiphia.
