Conditions surrounding the outbreak of yellow dwarf virus in autumn/winter-sown cereals in Canterbury during 2005

Examines possible causes of the 2005 yellow dwarf virus outbreak on a more generic scale with respect to virus infection resulting from primary and secondary aphid infestation in that year. Records of winged cereal-inhibiting YDV transmitting aphids caught in a 7.5 m Lincoln suction trap. Examines degree day accumulations of ambient temperatures at Lincoln (from 1982 to 2006) as measures of virus infection resulting from primary and secondary aphid infestation.
