Zusammenfassung: | super(210)Po concentration in Perna perna mussels is estimated. After one year of monthly sampling, no clear correlation is observed between super(210)Po concentration and mussel age and weight. A mean super(210)Po concentration of 155 Bq kg super(-1) wet weight basis, is found and this is comparable with data reported in the literature. Comparable results are obtained by changing the experiment methodology from seeding and sampling monthly during a whole year and a single sampling involving individuals of different sizes, 155.6 plus or minus 7.9 Bq kg super(-1) and 165 plus or minus 8 Bq kg super(-1), respectively. May be the higher frequency of micronuclei and DNA breaks observed in younger and/or smaller mussels can be related to other environmental factors different from the radiation derived from super(210)Po. |
