Zusammenfassung:Total syntheses of the monoterpenoid indole alkaloids (±)‐alstoscholarisine B and C were accomplished starting from a readily available indole‐2‐acetic ester and an α,β‐unsaturated N‐sulfonyllactam. Scholarly pursuits: Total syntheses of the monoterpenoid indole alkaloids (±)‐alstoscholarisine B and C, which were originally isolated from the leaves of Alstonia scholaris, were accomplished from readily available starting materials. A key step is Michael addition of the enolate derived from an indole‐2‐acetic ester to an α,β‐unsaturated N‐sulfonyllactam.
