Zusammenfassung: | After years of lobbying by the NDWA, unions and advocacy groups, in 2013 the Department of Labor issued a regulation extending minimum wage and overtime protections to home caregivers nationwide. For-profit home care associations filed a challenge, but lost in the Appellate Court decision in August, which affirmed the authority of the DOL to interpret the Fair Labor Standards Act. Advocates think it's unlikely the Appellate Court will rehear the case or the Supreme Court will take it up. The ruling could go into effect nationwide as soon as mid-October. |
