Zusammenfassung: | Global Health Policy The ATS has involvement with the World Health Organization (WHO) in a number of areas, including being a founder member of both the Stop TB Partnership and the Global Alliance against Chronic Respiratory Diseases (GARD), and being a member of the Framework Convention Alliance (against tobacco). In future, we intend to strengthen our commitment to GARD and will continue to emphasize with WHO the global importance chronic lung disease. Global Health Education and Research The ATS flagship global teaching program "Methods in Epidemiologic, Clinical, and Operations Research" (known as MECOR) has grown over 23 years to involve seven global regions and be the brand leader in mentored research education in respiratory medicine in low- and middle-income countries.
