A handshake, not a writing, may seal contracts in future

The National Conference of Commissioners of Uniform State Laws is considering deleting the statute of frauds from Article 2 of the Uniform Commercial Code. The statute of frauds requires contracts for the sale of goods for more than $500 to be made in writing.
