Advocacy as Craft—Law School Is More Than a "Paper Chase"

The law schools have a key role in the all-important quest for more competent advocates. A three-tiered curriculum would provide instruction in the core content of advocacy at the first level. Then the student would move on to courses dealing with the more sophisticated techniques of advocacy. The third tier—clinical education—would take the student into the courtroom under careful supervision.
