A preliminary study on fishing with lift net around net cages units

Many fish gather around the fish cage units, owing to feeding. Catching these species provides income to net cage owners and economy. One of the catching methods for these species is catching with lift net. In this study, various trials were done around the fish cage units with lift net, which is successfully used in Japanese, Philiphines, Indonesia, etc. and its catchability was tried to establish. In the study, total 11 species were caught. The most caught fish from all species are Bogue (Boops boops), Squids (Loligo vulgaris), Salema (Sarpa salpa), Horse mackerel (Trachurus trachurus), Mullet (Chelon labrasus) . Fishing was made in the daytime and at night. Catching rate during the day and at night was found %83.71, and %16.29, respectively. This shows that night fishing is more efficient than day time fishing.
