Zusammenfassung:Highlights • The severe deficiency of FIX did not protect the animals from the development of atherosclerotic plaques in the aortic areas evaluated after periods of 8 and 22 weeks. • In the qualitative evaluation related to smooth muscle (a-actin), and macrophages did not differ between the control and experimental groups. • With the improvements in treatment for haemophilia and prolonged survival and life expectancy, atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease would certainly be on the rise in these patients.
