Zusammenfassung:Highlights 1. Secondary brainstem hemorrhage often develops during descending transtentorial herniation, which is known as Duret hemorrhage. 2. Secondary brainstem hemorrhage is always considered a fatal and irreversible event. 3. In rare circumstances, some patients might survive from secondary traumatic brainstem hemorrhage and experience a favorable recovery. 4. The mechanism is still obscure to us and need to be further studied.
