Zusammenfassung: | After wide ranging experience of both general and especially endocrine medicine in three London hospitals, as well as a few months in general practice, Christopher William Burke was appointed consultant physician with a special interest in endocrine and metabolic disease to the Oxford hospitals in 1973. The contacts he had already made as the regional adviser to the Royal College of Physicians helped in this, and he also went on to establish a clinical audit services group, which interacted with nearly all of the county's 70-odd clinical directorates. On his second retirement he moved south into a Victorian rectory on the edge of Dartmoor, which he did much to restore, before a further move to Sidmouth, where he both advanced his culinary skills and lectured locally to a science, technology, and engineering group. |
