Zusammenfassung:AbstractNew sources of energy are necessary today to totally avoid oil dependence. People are researching renewable energy systems (RES) because RES are a challenge for economies and clean energy sources around the world. This paper presents an overview of the current status of energy production based on RES technologies in Mexico. Typical yield failure envelopes obtained with RS3 software in three-dimensions (3D) are included. These envelopes have the special soil characteristics found in marine sediments. Modeled anchors correspond to suction caissons and two typical geometries were studied. Additionally, a study of the seismic response of an offshore site was made using the computer program EERA, since earthquakes are events that frequently affect the infrastructure, making the design always dependent on transient events. A response spectrum is presented. The time histories of acceleration used to obtain the spectrum correspond to earthquakes localized in the area of the Gulf of Mexico.
