Zusammenfassung: | Highlights • This presumably is the first population study concerning hospitalization and incidence rate of diabetic Charcot neuroarthropathy (CN) in Italy and in one of its regions Tuscany. • Over last decade, in Italy and in Tuscany hospitalization for CN concerned only a small percentage of patients with diabetic foot. • Hospitalization and incidence rates remained constant in Italy with a trend to decline in Tuscany. • CN was significantly associated to younger age, longer hospital stay and greater prevalence of amputations and infections while the need of revascularization was similar to that of non-Charcot diabetic foot. |
