Ectonucleotidase and adenosine deaminase as inflammatory marker in dairy cows naturally infected by Dictyocaulus viviparus

Highlights • Dictyocaulus viviparus is the causative agent of dictyocaulosis in cattle, also known as parasitic bronchitis. • The dictyocaulosis alters NTPDase, 5′-nucleotidase, and ADA activities in naturally infected dairy cows. • The purinergic signaling pathway might be related to the inflammati...

Zusammenfassung:Highlights • Dictyocaulus viviparus is the causative agent of dictyocaulosis in cattle, also known as parasitic bronchitis. • The dictyocaulosis alters NTPDase, 5′-nucleotidase, and ADA activities in naturally infected dairy cows. • The purinergic signaling pathway might be related to the inflammation process caused by disease. • Post-treatment reduced the activity of NTPDase to ATP and ADP substrate. • Post-treatment increased the activities of enzymes 5′-nucleotidase and adenosine deaminase.
