Zusammenfassung:	The phenomenon of contact urticaria is increasingly recognised. A wheal-and-flare response can be elicited within 30-60 min after cutaneous exposure to a number of medicaments, cosmetics, foods and drink. Only 9% of these patients give a history of a typical wheal-and-flare, but up to 1/3 may have generalised urticaria. The majority of patients present with dermatitis (1).
