Zusammenfassung:Cutthroat flume is a flow measuring device which is commonly used for measurement of open-channel flow because of simple geometry and ease of construction. No experimental data are available for measurement of flow in the supercritical regime by cutthroat flume. Three different sizes of cutthroat flumes having different lengths and throat widths are fabricated and tested in the laboratory for supercritical flow regime. Regression analysis of experimental data is carried out, and it is observed that good correlation between dimensionless discharge and dimensionless head is obtained. Based on these results relation for dimensionless discharge and coefficient of discharge is proposed.
