Zusammenfassung:The behaviors of two Gray Wolves stricken with diseases were monitored throughout the ranges in northwestern Wisconsin and east-central Minnesota. The behaviors of the wolves suggested that thermal energy had been compromised by the loss of hair and infestations of the sarcoptic mange mite and biting louse. These behavioral patterns could be identified through the use of sequential monitoring using radio telemetry. Implications for wildlife management and preventive measures are discussed.
