Reviews "Galleria Nazionale dell'Umbria : dipinti e sculture dal XIII al XV secolo" ("National Gallery of Umbria : painting and sculpture from the 13th through the 15th century"), by Vittoria Garibaldi, with photographs by Bernardino Sperandio (Quattroemme, 2015). Garibaldi's volume includes 244 entries on paintings and sculptures in the museums collections, including information on old inventories, administrative documentation, and photographic records. The catalogue also contains lists of documented restorations, but there is no discussion of the results of those restoration. This is unfortunate, especially for medieval and Renaissance works, for which technical study conducted at the time of restoration has advanced research. [Revised Publication Abstract]
