Zusammenfassung: | Collagen vascular disease, thoracic outlet syndrome, infectious, and degenerative processes have also been described.2 No atherosclerotic changes were found in the aneurysmal artery specimen, and the assumed etiology of the aneurysm was the crutch use after traumatic brain injury. Prompt diagnosis and treatment is required to avoid permanent disability, limb loss, or even death secondary to exsanguination.2, 3 Endovascular treatment has been described in the literature, but surgical resection remains the treatment of choice.1, 3, 4 Better long-term patency is achieved with saphenous vein grafting, although prosthetic grafts have also been used successfully in patients lacking adequate quality of vein for reconstruction.1 Upper extremity peripheral aneurysms are relatively uncommon and acute complication can result in limbthreatening ischemia, neurological dysfunction, and potentially death. |
