Since prominent axonal damage has been repeatedly reported and deemed to be the hallmark of disulfiram toxicity, the metabolite of disulfiram carbon disulfide, which is known to induce axonal degeneration and neurofilament accumulation in experimental systems [4], could be a suggestive intermediary of disulfiram nerve toxicity as is also suggested by Santos et al.
