Bespoke practice

At the heart of bespoke, then, lies a respectful two-way relationship; within it, the work is shaped by both participants. In medicine it is all too easy to become so immersed in the challenges of acquiring scientific knowledge or practical skills that one sees oneself as a clinician as the primary focus. I find the idea of bespoke especially useful because it comes from outside medicine altogether. By shifting the focus away from medical content to clinical process, it becomes easier to perceive what is really important.
