Zusammenfassung:	Abstract After the publication of the Japanese edition of the NPPV Guidelines (second revised edition) by the Japanese Respiratory Society, the publication of an abridged English edition of the Guidelines was planned and has now been completed. The aim of publishing the abridged English edition—which consists of clinical questions (CQ), answers, and recommendations for specific NPPV interventions—is to obtain opinions from specialists in the field outside of Japan.
