Zusammenfassung:	Acidiphilium cryptum was co-isolated with two Alicyclobacillus-like species from a terrestrial saline mine site. Co-cultivation of A. cryptum BV1 with the Alicyclobacillus-like species under saline conditions resulted in faster cell growth and increased iron oxidation compared with the pure mono-cultures. The rates of iron oxidation relative to cell numbers increased three fold.
