Synthetic Principles for Bandgap Control in Linear π-Conjugated Systems

The development of synthetic methods allowing a better control of the structure and electronic properties of conjugated polymers are discussed. The design, synthesis, characterization and theoretical evaluation of small bandgap linear pi-conjugated systems are examined.
