Zusammenfassung: | A new radially driven electron-beam-breakup transit-time oscillator was investigated analytically and through computer simulation as a compact low-impedance high-power microwave generator. In a 1 MV, 50 kA device 35 cm in radius and 15 cm long, with no external magnetic field, 5 GW of extracted power and a growth rate of 0.26/ns were observed. Theoretical maximum efficiencies are several times higher. |
