Spin dependence of the masses of heavy baryons

It is argued from the systematics of spin-dependent forces between quarks that two proposed baryon states, named {Sigma}{sub {ital c}}(2380) and {Sigma}{sub {ital b}}(5760), do not exist. {copyright} {ital 1996 The American Physical Society.}
