Susceptibility of Colorado potato beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata) eggs to Beauveria bassiana

The Colorado potato beetle, Leptinotarsa decemlineata, has been a major pest of solanaceous crops in Europe and North America throughout the 20th century. The use of the fungal entomopathogen, Beauveria bassiana, has been explored for suppression of foliar feeding larvae. Whether or not B. bassiana has an effect on the mortality of Colorado potato beetle egg masses or emerging larvae could be important in determining the timing of foliar applications of B. bassiana.
