This article examines young members' union participation in two trade union organizations in Quebec. More specifically, it aims to understand how youth committees can stimulate their union participation and make them access decision-making positions more easily. Overall, our study portrays a much more nuanced apathy of young members towards unionism than expected. Young members notably ask to be allowed to challenge their union's strategic orientations. They also want to be closer to their union representatives, which would improve their feeling of belonging and stimulate their activism. [web Reproduced by permission of Bibliothèque de Sciences Po |
