ELEMENTAL MASS SIZE DISTRIBUTION OF ATMOSPHERIC AEROSOL IN PRAGUE

One BLPI and two SDI impactors were used (Hillamo et al. 1999) in a pilot campaign to study elemental mass size distribution of atmospheric aerosol in Prague. The measuring site was CHMI monitoring station at Libus, a sub-urban of Prague, 9 km from the city centre (50.008N, 14.447E, altitude 304 m)....

Zusammenfassung:One BLPI and two SDI impactors were used (Hillamo et al. 1999) in a pilot campaign to study elemental mass size distribution of atmospheric aerosol in Prague. The measuring site was CHMI monitoring station at Libus, a sub-urban of Prague, 9 km from the city centre (50.008N, 14.447E, altitude 304 m). Measurements were carried out during the period Friday morning December 11, 1998 - Wednesday morning December 16, 1998. In total five 24-hour samples were collected. Besides gravimetric mass determination for BLPI impactor samples, ion chromatography (IC) and particle induced X-ray emission spectrometry (PIXE) were used for both SDI and BLPI impactors. Here we report the results of elemental and ion mass size distributions and comparison of results obtained using different types of impactors.
