Childhood Adversity's Enduring Impact on Homeless Older Adults

Hinton discusses aspects of the article Childhood adversities associated with poor adult mental health outcomes in older homeless adults by C. M. Lee and colleagues. Lee and colleagues' findings advance the field by showing important similarities with prior studies. The authors found a strong association of childhood adversity and level of depressive symptoms in adulthood, consistent with prior studies of nonhomeless elderly. The study also provides a useful contribution to literature on homelessness in older adults.
