Zusammenfassung:Objectives: This Psychopharmacology Workshop will focus on a broad range of clinical psychopharmacological issues faced regularly by the practicing child and adolescent psychiatrist. Methods: Audience response systems will be used so that participants may initially test their own knowledge by answering a multiple choice question chosen by the Lifelong Learning Committee and the Continuing Education Committee. Questions will be chosen to cover common issues in the clinical practice of child and adolescent psychopharmacology. After each participant has answered the question, three leading experts in the field will discuss the answer and contribute clinical pearls related to the challenge that each question presents. Results: This dynamic immediate feedback Workshop is designed to identify and bridge gaps in the knowledge of the participants in their understanding and practice of child and adolescent psychopharmacology. Conclusions: Self-assessment is frequently challenging to the practicing child and adolescent psychiatrist. This Workshop provides immediate individualized feedback to the participant as they answer the multiple choice questions followed by expert discussion of the topic that has been queried. The Workshop provides a way for the participant to document strengths in this practice area; identify opportunities for improvement that can serve as a framework for a professional development plan, which may point them toward another session at the annual meeting to improve their knowledge base; and meet the requirements for self-assessment that is a part of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology's Maintenance of Certification Program.
