The incidence of and risk factors for ischemic complications after microsurgical clipping of unruptured middle cerebral artery aneurysms and the efficacy of intraoperative monitoring of somatosensory evoked potentials: A retrospective study

Highlights • Postoperative ischemic complication (PIC) rate after clipping of unruptured MCA aneurysm was 3.1%. • Risk factors for PICs were age ≥ 62.5 years, previous stroke, and inversely SSEP monitoring. • SSEP monitoring during surgery may feasible to prevent PICs.
