Zusammenfassung:An analysis of validated National Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) data from 2008 to 2014 showed that Nigeria has recorded steady progress. However, to achieve elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV, service scale-up and active testing of pregnant women are required, as a large number of HIV-infected women in Nigeria are not aware of their HIV status. Focusing on efforts that will improve access and uptake of antenatal care/PMTCT services will significantly reduce new infant HIV infection.
