Thrombin and protein C pathway in peripheral nerve Schwann cells

Highlights • Cultured Schwann cells secrete prothrombin and express EPCR. • Peripheral nerves contain Protein C Pathway Components. • After sciatic injury thrombin and EPCR increase significantly, Schwann cells are probably the main source of these factors.
