Zusammenfassung:With the above and in case of a possible future re-emergence of such etiologies, to consider in the differential diagnosis of the febrile syndrome in travelers from tropical areas, as it is the case of Louseborne Relapsing Fever [1-3], we consider appropriate to promote proper training, in microbiology laboratories, in the recognition of these organisms susceptible to Giemsa or Wright stain, beyond Plasmodium spp., being the blood smear an inexpensive method (cost-effective), readily, available and useful in the acute phase of the disease [6].
