The coupling between peripheral microcirculation and slow breathing

Highlights • Breathing temporally couples to capillary flow at low skin oxygenation levels. • This coupling gradually increases as breathing rate slows down. • Capillary flow response to skin oxygenation change is potentiated at low oxygenation.
