Analyse organique GC/MS de l'huile essentielle de Melanthera scandens recolte a Azaguie en Cote d'Ivoire [ GC/MS organic analysis of Melanthera scandens essential oil harvested in Azaguie in Cote d'Ivoire ]

The essential oil dried leaves of Melanthera scandens has been extracted by hydro- distillation with a yield of 0.012 plus or minus 0.003 %. Its chemical composition has been put in evidence by GC/MS. Thirty-six (36) constituents representing 98.92% of the total organic composition of this oil have been identified. These are hydrocarbon sesquiterpenes (60.46%) and oxygenated sesquiterpenes (10.06%), hydrocarbon monoterpenes (10.21%), oxygenated monoterpenes (0.58%) and non identified compounds others (17.61%). The main compounds are alpha -caryophyllene (24.6%), beta -caryophyllene (13.08%), 4-acetyl-1-methylcyclohexene (9.12%), caryophyllene oxide (8.54%) and germacrene D (8.52%).
