Repartition ecologique des Pteridophytes dans le Sud-Est de la Cote d'Ivoire [ Ecological Distribution of Pteridophytes in south-eastern of Cote d'Ivoire ]

Pteridophytes or vascular cryptogams are an essential component of the plant kingdom. Their ecological distribution in the south-eastern of Cote d'Ivoire was analyzed through a botanical inventory. The plot method and walk-censuses were applied during the inventories. At the end of this research, Seventy-five (75) species of Pteridophytes were recorded. They belonged to 37 genera and 21 botanical families. Among those species, four (4) were found in aquatic environment, twenty (20) in swamp area. Thirty-four (34) other species were encountered in the understorey of forest and seventeen (17) were found on trees. Some of those were shade or light demanding species. However, some of these species are sometimes encountered outside of their preferential habitats.
