Zusammenfassung:To the Editor: Pan et al. (June 16 issue) 1 found that antiviral therapy has an important role in the elimination of mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B virus (HBV). Their results add value to the efforts of defining strategies that will bring us closer to the goal of global elimination of HBV infection by 2030. 2 In this trial, treatment with tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) that was started at 30 to 32 weeks of gestation resulted in 68% of mothers having an HBV DNA level of less than 200,000 IU per milliliter at delivery, which meant that almost one third of mothers . . .
