Incidence and risk factors for surgical site infections in N'Gaoundéré Regional Hospital, Cameroon

Highlights • SSI incidence is unknown in Cameroon. • SSI incidence rate was 30.7% in a regional Hospital in North Cameroon. • More than one third of SSI were diagnosed after discharge. • SSI surveillance networks should be promoted in Western Africa.
